Weekend Traffic Court Delhi: Settle Your Challan on Sunday – Full Guide

Why Weekend Courts Were Started

Delhi has a backlog of lakhs of pending traffic challans. Lok Adalats help, but they happen only a few times a year and slips run out within hours. Weekend Courts give a regular, weekly option so people can settle challans without taking leave.

Who Should Use the Weekend Court?

  • Office-goers and business owners who can’t visit on weekdays
  • People who missed the Lok Adalat slip
  • Vehicle owners with several compoundable challans (within the limit)

How to Prepare

  1. Check all challans by vehicle number on Parivahan e-Challan and the Delhi Traffic Police site.
  2. Identify challans that are “sent to court” and compoundable.
  3. Check the latest official notice for any booking or token step.
  4. Carry challan details, RC, DL, photo ID and a payment method.
  5. Reach early – the morning session tends to be busier.

What Can’t Be Settled

Drunk driving, accident-related and other non-compoundable cases are not handled in Weekend Courts. These need the regular court process – an advocate can guide you.

Weekend Court vs Evening Court

Evening Courts work on weekdays after office hours and allow fewer challans per day. Weekend Courts allow more challans per visit and suit people who can spare a Sunday. Compare all options in our Lok Adalat vs Evening Court vs Weekend Court guide.
