Fines shown are the central MV Act amounts after the 2019 amendment. States can compound offences at different amounts, and the final amount in court, Lok Adalat or special courts is decided by the judge/bench. Always verify the amount on your challan.

Can These Fines Be Reduced?

For compoundable offences that have been sent to court, the National Lok Adalat, Evening Court and Weekend Court can settle challans – sometimes at a lower amount. Non-compoundable offences like drunk driving go through the regular court process.

Most Common Delhi Challans

  • Overspeeding caught by speed cameras on expressways and ring roads
  • Red-light jumping and stop-line violations at ITMS junctions
