Why Does a Challan Move to Court?

Most states give a window (often 60–90 days) to pay an e-challan. If it remains unpaid, it is forwarded to the Virtual Court and later to a regular court. Some offences go directly to court because they need judicial decision.

Paid But Still Showing Pending?

Status may take a few working days to update. If it doesn’t, raise a grievance on the portal with the transaction ID and payment receipt. Read our online challan payment guide for fixes.

Status Shows a Challan That Isn’t Yours?

This happens with sold vehicles, number-plate cloning or wrong number reading by cameras. Collect evidence and contest the challan. If you sold the vehicle, read challan on a sold vehicle.
