How to Download Lok Adalat Token / Challan Slip in Delhi (Step by Step)

The single biggest hurdle in a Delhi Lok Adalat is not the hearing – it is getting the challan slip (often called the token or appointment letter). Slips are released online a few days before each Lok Adalat and are issued only until the daily quota is exhausted. Here is exactly how the process works and how to improve your chances.

What Is the Lok Adalat Token / Slip?

The slip is a printable document generated on the Delhi Traffic Police website for each challan you want to settle. It shows the challan details, the court complex, the bench number and the date and time window. Without it, you will generally not be heard at the Lok Adalat.

When Does the Slip Download Open?

Download usually opens about a week before the Lok Adalat at 10 am. For the 25 October 2026 Lok Adalat, the download was reported to start on 19 October 2026 from 10 am, with roughly 50,000 challans per day until a total of about 2 lakh. Check the official Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat page for the final schedule.

Step-by-Step: Download the Lok Adalat Slip

  1. Open the Lok Adalat section on traffic.delhipolice.gov.in a few minutes before 10 am.
  2. Enter your vehicle number (or challan number) and the captcha.
  3. The system lists challans that are eligible for the Lok Adalat. Select the ones you want to settle.
  4. Verify using the OTP sent to your vehicle-linked mobile number, where required.
  5. Download and print the slip for each challan. Save the PDF on your phone as backup.

Tips to Get Your Slip

  • Keep vehicle number and challan numbers ready in a notepad.
  • Use a laptop with a stable connection; mobile data at 10 am can be slow.
  • Log in a few minutes early and refresh at exactly 10:00.
  • If you have many vehicles, start with the one that has the most challans.

What If You Don’t Get a Slip?

Don’t panic. You can settle compoundable challans in a Weekend Court (Sundays and second Saturdays) or book an Evening Court slot on working days. Many people also prefer to let an advocate manage the process – see our Lok Adalat registration page.

Is the Token Free?

Yes. The official slip download is free on the Delhi Traffic Police website. Be careful of websites or messages that ask for payment for an “official token”. Our service is a private advocate assistance service and is clearly optional.
